Customer Service - "What's your mobile number?"

I heard that Dialog was giving broadband services to the greater Colombo area, so just to confirm this I called Dialog customer care... its crazy! Forget about the long menu (I am used to that), its strange how the customer care people respond in their monotonous robot like manner with the same set of questions....

So they greet you (saying good afternoon or whatever) then when you say the problem, it SEEMS like they completely ignore that and ask for your name? Then they ask for your mobile number as well... totally unrelated information to my question. Why do they have to stick to this process? (taught to them by someone who actually doesn't use the service)

If the query is related to billing then ask for the god damn number, otherwise for what? Anyway the customer care dude told me Dialog BB is not yet launched

Anyway then I looked up the internet for Dialog BB customer care number 077 7676767. it rang and then it said 'user busy'. OKAY maybe Sunday is a bad day to call but then at least have a recording saying it closed, seemed like it was somebody's personal phone number?

Its good they have stopped all the TV and Radio commercials claiming to be the best service team!
